 It was written by Kalhana , He was known as the first Historian in kashmir and Was born in Hindu brahim family ( birth Place Parihaspore District Baramulla)
 Orginally it was written in sanskrit and got translated into persian during the reign of Sultan Zainul Abideen ( Muslim Rular of Shahmir dynasty)
 The work consists of 7826 verves divided into 8 books called as ( Tarangas ) waves
 Rajatarangini Means ( River of Kings )
 Translations of Rajatarangini in other languages included
 Sanskrit into Persian { Mulla Ahmad}
 Hindi translation by Ramtej Shastri pandey and Gopi krishna shastri Dwivedi
 Urdu Translation By Pandith Thakar Acharchand
 English Translation: Marc Aurel stein
Rajatarangini Work got completed In 1149-50 During the reign of Jaisimha , In Rajatarangini the kings Highlighted as such as ( Gonada,Damodara ,Yashovati, Gonada 2 , Ashoka, Jaloka ,Hushka, Jushka, Kanishaka etc.
 Archaeological sites:
 Burzahom: the archaeological site located in the Srinagar district in kashmir valley considered as the first Neolithic site discovered in kashmir located between the banks of Dal lake and Zabarwan Hill.
 In kashmiri language burz means Birch a tree species that generally grows in the elevation range of 3000 to 4200 meters ( 9800 to 13800ft.) in the Himalayas.

 Gufkral: It is an another important archaeological site in Kashmir located at Banmir village in Hurdumir Area of Tral Tehsil District Pulwama. In kashmiri language Guf means Cave Kral Means Potter it was a site inhabited by potters who utilize caves.
